National Night Out, August 2, 2011 Sponsored by the Upper Mt. Hope Neighbors (UMHN), President Dan Hurley
South Presbyterian Church was well represented by members of
the Joy Group and others. Tables and chairs were set up so that the neighborhood children could participate in craft work with supplies being
provided by members of the church. Beads, glue sticks, crayons, paints etc.,
were made available by the Joy Group. Face painting was a popular activity. Also, very tasty water melon was made available by Ann Finger and her
helpers.
The singing group, The Sweet Adelines entertained the folks with many
"barber shop" melodies. Also, a big "thank you" to the Rochester Fire Department and their fire truck for providing a terrific shower of water for the many little children who had a lot of fun running through the spray.
South Church would like to thank Dan Hurley and all the neighbors who turned
out for this wonderful event.
